"Welcome To My World"
June 6th through July 20th

Marie DesMarais

Marie DesMarais' work comes directly out of doodles and unconscious drawings. After years of filling up notebooks and sketchpads, she has comprised a series of various organic shapes brought out in a variety of mediums including paint, fabric and paper. She calls it " A Study of Tropism" due largely to the cellular shape it has taken. (Tropism = the way in which plants react toward an environmental stimulus)

She likes to recycle windows, metal and plastic (even on the weekends) and uses them as part of her canvas. You can catch her washing windows for money and fame during the week. Please, no Windex at the opening.

Bill Lohre

Bill Lohre has a hidden talent as a comedian. He might get his sense of humor from reading the Brothers Grimm fairy tales and a New Yorker magazine, at the same, time while belting out the Brittney Spears hit "Toxic". His attempt to fuse current and historical events with an exaggerated narrative works like a ship in a glass bottle. You wonder just how in the hell he does it? He obviously has a lot to say when he sculpts. Bill moved to NYC last year and grew 2 inches and it might make him a star.

Joshua Erb

Joshua Erb has been taking photos since long before he ever considered himself a photographer. Although he has a bag filled with digital cameras and lens, he likes the freedom of the lightweight Holga. He has shot a roll of film everyday day since 04 and has a library of negatives to prove it, somewhere. This show is no different from the way he is used to working. You can expect to see new Holga images from the last few weeks leading up to the opening. And if that's not enough, he is also collaborating on a series, with fellow photographer, Candace Karch, about dolls and other objects haunting religious spaces. (It may be time to get on your knees and pray). Who knows what else he could get himself into by June 6th. Wink wink.
