Best Bartender-Owned Art Gallery:
"Feisty Johnny Brenda's bartendress Candy is the brains behind Bambi Gallery , the neon pink beacon that lights up a once-desolate stretch of Frankford Avenue. Hosting Fishtown's finest objets d'art and selling locally made artsy creations in the gift shop? We'll drink to that." --Kelly White, Philadephia City Paper.
The Bambi Project Story
Bambi was established in 2005 to promote the arts in Fishtown with a gallery and artist consignment shop. It is considered a welcome step in the New Kensington Community Develelpment Corporation's vision of turning Frankford Avenue into an arts corridor.
Bambi holds First-Friday art openings every two months. Keep an eye out for flyers posted around town, or check back at the website periodically for info. We are keen on showcasing mixed media artists and our openings will at times be conceptual. But you can guarantee they will always be entertaining and fun.
